Best time to visit Tunisia
Tunisia has a Mediterranean climate on the coast and a desert climate in the south, so the best time depends on where you are going. Temperatures below are approximate.
Spring and autumn: the best seasons
April to June and September to October are the most comfortable months for almost everywhere: warm days, sunny weather and a sea that is pleasant for swimming by June. These are the best months for combining cities, ruins and beaches.
Summer: beach season, but very hot
July and August are hot on the coast and extremely hot in the south, where temperatures often pass 40°C. Stay near the sea, sightsee early in the morning and avoid desert trips in these months.
Winter: mild and good for the Sahara
November to March is cooler and wetter in the north, but the south is pleasant, which makes it the best season for Douz, Tozeur and the desert. It is also a quiet, low-cost time for city breaks and Roman sites.
